The Siebert Lutheran Foundation recently partnered with the Mars Family Foundation for a Fish Tank -- think Shark Tank, but for young people! The Fish Tank is designed to educate young people about philanthropy and get them excited about giving back. A panel of children ages 8-17 listened to listened to “pitches” from local non-profit organizations about their work in the community. Next, the kids chose 1-2 organizations to support using funds provided by Mars and Siebert. They also shared how they came up with their funding decisions.
We look forward to future opportunities for collaboration with partners like these who are doing such amazing work!
A grantmaker at the Fish Tank event says: "I could make a difference, just me." Thank you to Ebenezer Stone Ministries, Jacarrie Kicks4Kids, and Lutherdale for inspiring us and to the participants who joined us in this effort to educate young people about philanthropy and get them excited about giving back. Visit Siebert Serves to learn more about how you can make a difference.
