A powerful new partnership is taking root in Milwaukee, one that blends faith, education, and community revitalization.
Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School received a $300,000 grant from the Siebert Lutheran Foundation and We Raise Foundation to support its career-readiness initiative, Nehemiah 2.0.

Founded in 2018, Kingdom Prep is a Lutheran high school for boys committed to breaking cycles of poverty and violence in Milwaukee. Currently serving 174 students—all through the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program—the school teaches through a Biblical lens, focusing equally on life skills and academics.
At its core, Nehemiah 2.0 combines hands-on workforce training with faith-based learning to create meaningful opportunities for young men—and real change for Milwaukee neighborhoods.
“We’re honored to support Kingdom Prep’s innovative approach that blends faith-based education, career training, and community impact,” – Charlotte John-Gomez, President & CEO, Siebert Lutheran Foundation
By 2028, Kingdom Prep plans to:
Renovate and sell or rent at least three homes
Engage over 100 students in real-world career experiences
Students learn trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, along with skills in real estate management and finance—all while being mentored by local industry professionals.
“The Nehemiah 2.0 project is about building strong pathways to a flourishing future, unlocking the God-given potential within each student,” – Paul Miles, President & CEO, We Raise Foundation
In time, Nehemiah 2.0 aims to become financially self-sustaining, with revenue from home sales and rental income supporting ongoing operations. Kingdom Prep also hopes to expand its partnerships to include nonprofits, corporations, and government agencies working in housing and workforce development.
Together, these organizations are helping Milwaukee youth build a better future—one home, one career, and one student at a time.
