Tim has spent many years thinking about the intersection between faith and generosity. Starting his career as a teacher and youth minister in Nebraska, Tim served 30 years in various leadership roles at the Aid Association for Lutherans/Thrivent. After retiring in 2013, Tim formed a limited liability company, soblessed, llc, through which he does volunteer and professional consulting, facilitation and development work for Thrivent and other service organizations. One of his most recent projects was working in a collaboration to test ways to accelerate the growth of culture of Christian generosity in congregations. His Lutheran roots are about as deep as you can get; his father, Paul, served as an LCMS pastor in Indiana and South Dakota. Tim graduated from Concordia University Nebraska, received his Director of Christian Education Certification through Concordia Nebraska, and earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Kearney State (now University of Nebraska at Kearney) with an emphasis in Family and Agency Counseling. In addition to his consulting practice, Tim is well known for his volunteer leadership, serving as a member of the Board of Regents, Foundation Board of Directors, and Chair of the Regent’s Investment Committee at Concordia University, Nebraska, on the Personnel Committee of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity Leadership Development Committee, and Chair of the United Way – Fox Cities Public Policy Committee. Tim and his wife, Joann, met at Concordia and have been married 40 years, and are blessed with four children and nine grandchildren.
