May a Lutheran organization submit more than one grant proposal in a year?
Yes, however the Foundation rarely approves more than one grant to an organization in a calendar year.
Return to topExplain the grant submission deadlines.
The submission deadlines are the first working day of the month preceding the Foundation quarterly Board meeting. Grant proposals must be postmarked no later than that date. (March 1, June 1, September 1, or December 1)
Return to topMust we prepare our grant proposal in the Foundation's preferred outline form?
Yes, however we will accept the common application form developed by the Donor's Forum of Wisconsin.
Return to topShould we submit our grant proposal with all of the required supportive documents or should we submit parts as soon as they are available?
The proposal should be submitted complete with all supportive and required documents. The Board will not review an incomplete grant proposal. Our grant proposal instructions list the required supportive documents.
Return to topMust a grant seeker contact the Foundation prior to submission of a grant proposal?
Yes. A grant seeker must contact the Foundation prior to writing a proposal to inform the staff of a grant proposal in progress, to seek guidance, and to be assured of using the most current grant proposal instructions.
Return to topAre grant proposals accepted from non-Lutheran organizations?
No.
Return to topWhen a grant proposal has been denied by the Board, is it appropriate to call the Foundation to request the reason for denial?
The Foundation reserves the right not to give a reason for a grant denial.
Return to topWhen a grant proposal has been denied, may the grant seeker request the Board to reconsider that same grant document?
No. A new grant proposal must be submitted.
